49-year-old former Allegheny County Jail corrections officer, Robert Veith, has been charged with harassment, official oppression, and simple assault after surveillance footage showed him repeatedly punching an inmate during a cell check. Veith allegedly struck the inmate even after he'd fallen to the ground, despite a supervisor using a taser on the inmate. Veith is no longer employed at the jail.
