Swedish court of appeal fines Klarna $733,000 for violating GDPR due to insufficient client data storage information.

Swedish payments group Klarna has been fined $733,000 by a Swedish court of appeal for violating the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Klarna failed to provide sufficient information to clients about how it would store their personal data, with the information found to be unclear or difficult to access. The fine is higher than the original 6 million Swedish crowns penalty set by a lower court.
