South Africa's Minister of Electricity reports a 4,000MW decrease in Unplanned Capacity Loss Factor at Eskom, crediting CEO appointment and board leadership.
South Africa's Minister of Electricity, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, reported improvements at state power utility Eskom, despite ongoing load shedding challenges. The Unplanned Capacity Loss Factor has decreased from 17,369MW in May to 13,473MW in December, a recovery of about 4,000MW. Ramokgopa attributes the progress to a greater level of stability since the appointment of Eskom's permanent CEO, Dan Marokane, and the leadership of the board.
