SERAP urges NCC CEO to revoke directive barring millions of Nigerians' phone lines linked to NINs.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) urges Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) CEO Dr. Aminu Maida to revoke an unlawful directive barring phone lines of millions of Nigerians who linked their SIM cards to their National Identification Numbers (NINs). SERAP also calls for restoring blocked phone lines and establishing mechanisms for supporting Nigerians to link SIM cards to NINs. NCC recently ordered telecoms to bar phone lines of citizens who did not submit a good NIN by February 28.
