Police Scotland reveals a 36% rise in hate crimes in North Ayrshire, with six repeat victims and seven repeat locations identified in the nine-month period examined. This comes alongside a "Hate Hurts" campaign launched by the Scottish Government, aiming to raise awareness of the impact of hate crimes and encourage victims and witnesses to come forward, as part of the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act, which expands protected characteristics and comes into force on April 1st.
