Pakistan's PM increases Ramazan Relief Package to Rs12.5bn, benefiting 39.6 million families with essential goods at lower prices.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has increased the Ramazan Relief Package from Rs7.5bn to Rs12.5bn to benefit 39.6 million families, providing them with essential goods at lower prices. The package, delivered through Utility Stores, the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), and mobile units, includes subsidies of up to 30% on goods and will be distributed until the end of Ramadan. The Benazir Income Support Programme will provide flour, rice, dal, ghee, sugar, syrup, and milk at lower prices than the market, with a subsidy of Rs77 per kg on flour and Rs70 per kg on ghee. A digital technology-enabled dashboard will monitor mobile flour sales, and trucks will deliver low-cost food items to various areas.
