9 million Western European pay-TV subscribers expected to decline by 2029, with Germany, UK, Italy, and France losing 2.7M, 2M, 1.5M, and 1.

Western Europe is expected to lose almost 9 million pay-TV subscribers between 2023 and 2029, a decline of 8%, according to Digital TV Research. Pay-TV will fall in 14 of the 18 countries during this period, with Germany losing 2.7 million subs, the UK down by 2.0 million, Italy 1.5 million, and France by 1.1 million. In contrast, IPTV is set to gain 1 million subscribers during this time.
