3.9 million livestock killed due to harsh winter in Mongolia, State Emergency Commission reports. Eastern Sukhbaatar province most affected by severe cold called "dzud", where over 1.1 million livestock deaths occurred. Mongolia has seen much more snow than usual, affecting 80% of its territory. The country raises livestock husbandry as a key way to diversify their economy amid the disaster.
