Labour leader Keir Starmer calls for access to music education for every child, citing a disparity between state-educated pupils and those in arts professions.

Labour leader Keir Starmer reiterates his call for every child to have the chance to play a musical instrument as he warns it is "immoral" that many kids do not have access to the arts. Starmer will visit a school in the East of England to discuss broadening the school curriculum and raising concerns about state-educated pupils being held back from fulfilling their potential. A Labour analysis of major film, TV, and music awards showed that 94% of children go to state schools, but only 60% of British actors, directors, and musicians nominated in the last decade were state-educated.
