Karnataka Health Minister bans Rhodamine-B in food due to health hazards found in tested samples.

Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundurao has banned the food colouring agent Rhodamine-B, commonly used in dishes such as Gobi Manchurian and cotton candy, due to its health hazards. The minister stated that the health department will take legal action if any restaurants are found using such chemicals in food preparation. Rhodamine-B has been found in 107 out of 171 Gobi Manchurian samples and 15 out of 25 cotton candy samples tested, raising health concerns.
