An inmate at Rhode Island's Intake Service Center in Cranston died on Saturday morning after being reported in medical distress in his cell. Nursing staff provided medical assistance and called emergency services, who took the inmate to Rhode Island Hospital where he later died. The investigation is being conducted by the State Police and the Rhode Island Department of Corrections' Investigative Unit.
