India's Department of Pharmaceuticals updates PTUAS to modernize pharmaceutical industry, supporting small units to meet global standards.

India's Department of Pharmaceuticals has introduced a revamped Pharmaceuticals Technology Upgradation Assistance Scheme (PTUAS) to modernize the country's pharmaceutical industry, enabling it to meet global standards. The new scheme supports small pharma units with a turnover of less than Rs 500 crore to meet Revised Schedule-M and WHO-GMP standards. It offers flexible financing options, a dynamic incentive structure, and integration with state government schemes for maximum support. The primary goal of the revised scheme is to enhance the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products manufactured in India.
