Sulyok, former head of the Constitutional Court, was elected by Hungarian lawmakers following the resignation of Katalin Novak amid a child abuse pardon scandal. In his inaugural speech, Sulyok emphasized the importance of the Fundamental Law as the cornerstone of his work as President.
