2017: Gold Coast woman Maree Crabtree accused of murdering son with drug-laced smoothie; blender found with drug traces.
A court has heard that a blender allegedly used by Gold Coast woman Maree Mavis Crabtree to concoct a lethal smoothie containing overdose of prescription drugs to kill her son has been found to have traces of three different types of drugs. Crabtree is accused of murdering her 26-year-old son Jonathan by giving him an overdose of prescription drugs in a fruit smoothie in 2017. She was previously granted bail after jurors were discharged from her trial, which was declared a mistrial.
