Challenger Energy Group signed the AREA OFF-3 licence, marking its first step in offshore operations in Uruguay. The agreement covers an area of 13,352 sq km off the Uruguayan coast, with seismic data and two major prospects that may contain up to 2 billion barrels of oil and 9 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The initial exploration phase begins June 7, 2024, and lasts until June 6, 2028.
