Samsung Display begins constructing an 8.6-generation IT OLED production line, transforming its L8 line into the A6 line for IT devices and smartphones at its Asan facilities. This will be Samsung's sixth OLED line, the world's highest-generation when completed. Full-scale mass production is set for 2026, following a $3.1bn investment by 2026 to build a line producing 10 million laptop panels annually. The global IT OLED market is projected to grow from $2.5bn in 2024 to $8.9bn in 2029, at a rate of 28.6%.
