Lagos police arrested a woman who poisoned her daughter with Sniper insecticide, intending to reduce convulsions.

Lagos police have arrested a woman who attempted to kill her one-year-and-seven-month-old daughter by administering the poisonous insecticide "Sniper". The child suffered from convulsions and was taken to Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, where the mother confessed to a doctor that she gave the child the poison, hoping it would reduce the convulsions and allow her some rest. Following treatment at the hospital, the mother was taken into police custody for investigation.
