King George's Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow completed successful revision knee replacement surgeries on two elderly women, aged 63 and 66, whose initial knee replacements failed due to infections and implant loosening. The two-stage surgeries involved removing infection and bone cement placement, followed by a new implant after two months. Both patients now walk independently. KGMU conducts around two revision knee replacement cases monthly.
