India and Bangladesh border guards are planning increased coordination to reduce crimes along their shared boundary. Officials have said that by engaging more with villagers, they hope to reduce smuggling, human trafficking, and attacks on security personnel by transborder criminals. A nine-member team from India's Border Security Force had recently met with top officials of Bangladesh's Border Guards in Dhaka to discuss the implementation of these measures.
