Church of England plans £1bn reparations for historical slavery links, funding black-led businesses.

The Church of England plans to raise up to £1bn in reparations for its historical links to slavery, according to an independent oversight group. The bulk of the money will be used to fund an investment fund supporting black-led businesses and entrepreneurs who have difficulty accessing capital. Critics argue it is unfair to blame present institutions for their ancestors' actions, but proponents of reparations maintain it's the moral duty of those who profited from slavery to make amends.
