Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina has pledged to modernize the Bangladesh Coast Guard by transforming it into a three-dimensional force. The government has approved building nine replacement ships and plans to increase its strength to 15,000 personnel by 2030. The force will be equipped with modern technology, ships, helicopters, and improved communication systems, with a focus on securing the country's vast maritime borders, as 90% of business transactions are done through marine means.
