Ascot Downs beef cattle operation purchases top-price Charbray bull for drought-tolerance.

Ascot Downs beef cattle operation, run by the Gleesons since 2000, sought a more drought-tolerant breed to add hardiness to their Charolais base herd. After being affected by 8 years of drought, they purchased a top-price Charbray bull, Wattlebray Swepson ($23,500), from the 2023 Black Stump Invitation Sale. The family was satisfied with the bull's performance and plans to attend future Black Stump Sales.
