32-year-old Edwin Thompson was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter, sale and delivery of fentanyl, possession of fentanyl, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. The Port St. Lucie man sold fentanyl to 34-year-old Michael McGaffin, who later died from an overdose. This case marks one of the first successful prosecutions in Florida linking a dealer to a fatal fentanyl overdose.
