Tiger Woods withdraws from The Players Championship due to ongoing recovery from surgery.
Tiger Woods will not participate in The Players Championship, a flagship golf event, scheduled for next week at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The PGA Tour released the 144-player field, and Woods' name was not on the list. Woods has not competed at The Players since 2019 and has been recovering from fusion surgery he underwent last year to address post-traumatic arthritis in his right foot and ankle.
