The UKMTO confirmed the vessel and crew were safe, but the ship targeted in the attack was heading to its next port. Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi group has been attacking ships in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and Gulf of Aden since November, citing solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
