Montreal Canadiens traded goaltender Jake Allen to New Jersey Devils for a conditional third-round draft pick.

The Montreal Canadiens traded goaltender Jake Allen to the New Jersey Devils for a conditional third-round draft pick on Friday, ahead of the NHL trade deadline. The Devils can upgrade the pick to a second-round draft pick if Allen plays 40 or more games with the team and if the Devils make the playoffs in the 2024-25 season. Allen has a .892 save percentage and a 3.65 goals-against average in 21 starts this season. The Canadiens will retain 50% of Allen's $3.85 million cap hit, which runs through the 2024-25 season.
