Hong Kong introduces national security law.

Hong Kong has proposed a new national security bill that could result in life imprisonment for residents who "endanger national security." The draft legislation targets espionage, disclosing state secrets, and "colluding with external forces" to commit illegal acts. The European Union has expressed concerns that the bill could exacerbate the erosion of fundamental freedoms in Hong Kong.
