Former President Trump secures $91.6m bond from insurer Chubb for defamation case appeal.

Former President Donald Trump has secured a $91.6m bond from insurer Chubb to cover the $83.3m awarded to writer E. Jean Carroll in a defamation case. The bond, from Chubb's Federal Insurance Co., will allow Trump to appeal the verdict in the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The bond prevents Carroll from immediately collecting the award but is a promise from Chubb to pay if Trump loses the appeal or fails to pay.
