Court of Appeal orders reconsideration of Dublin's Copper Face Jacks nightclub & hotel's €1.15m commercial rates bill.

The Court of Appeal has ruled that the €1.15 million commercial rates bill for Dublin's Copper Face Jacks nightclub and adjoining Jackson Court Hotel must be reconsidered. The Commissioner of Valuation argued rates should be calculated based on a €1.75 million estimated net annual value (NAV), but the valuation tribunal reduced the NAV to €1.155 million in 2016. The matter has been remitted to a different tribunal panel for a fresh hearing of Breanagh Catering's appeal from the Commissioner's decision.
