China's consumer prices rose 0.7% year-on-year in February for the first time since August 2023, breaking a contraction streak that has pressured growth in the world's second-largest economy. The uptick in CPI was mainly driven by spending linked to the Lunar New Year and was the highest in 11 months, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. However, factory-gate prices fell again, decreasing 2.7% year-on-year.
