43-year-old man in police custody for domestic violence offences seriously injured himself in Cowra Police Station cell. Officers intervened and during transport to Bathurst Hospital, his health deteriorated. He is in serious but stable condition. A critical incident investigation by Central West Police District is underway, subject to independent review, with Professional Standards Command overseeing.
