82-year-old Irish President Michael D Higgins has been discharged from St James's Hospital in Dublin after a week-long stay. He was admitted for "mild transient weakness" and is advised to cut back on public engagements for a short period of recuperation. Higgins thanked the hospital staff for their care and called Ireland "lucky to have such wonderful, dedicated and caring medical staff."
