Vancouver police officer recommended for charge by BC's IIO for serious injury to man during booking on June 30, 2021.
B.C. 's police watchdog, the Independent Investigations Office (IIO), has filed a report to Crown prosecutors recommending a charge against a Vancouver police officer, after a man sustained a serious injury while being booked into cells on June 30, 2021. The IIO found reasonable grounds to believe that an officer may have committed an offence related to the use of force during the incident.
