Rivian pauses Georgia plant construction due to slowed EV sales, shifts production to Illinois.

Electric vehicle company Rivian has paused construction of its $5 billion Georgia plant, originally planned for 2024, citing slowed electric vehicle sales growth. The company will instead produce new models, R2 and R3, at its facility in Illinois, saving around $2.25 billion. Rivian has not specified a new start date for the Georgia project but maintains its commitment to the state.
