Researchers from Northwestern University and Washington University School of Medicine have developed a new ultrasound sticker that changes shape in response to body's pH levels, allowing real-time monitoring of organ health and early detection of post-surgery complications like anastomotic leaks. The study, published in Science, tested the stickers on animal models for stomach, small intestine, and pancreas leak detection.
