Myrtle Beach hosts a free DHEC class on recognizing and stopping opioid overdoses, teaching Narcan use.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) offered a free class in Myrtle Beach educating people on how to recognize and stop an overdose. The class, attended by many concerned locals, covered how to use Narcan, a lifesaving opioid antidote. DHEC emphasized the importance of having Narcan kits at home, as opioid prescriptions are regularly distributed in South Carolina and non-addicted individuals can still overdose.
