Mississippi's highest court has upheld the convictions and death sentences of Willie Cory Godbolt, who killed eight people, including his mother-in-law and a deputy sheriff, in 2017. Godbolt was convicted on 12 counts, including four counts of capital murder and four counts of murder, and was sentenced to death for each capital murder conviction. The court rejected all 19 points of appeal, including claims of an unfair jury and ineffective defense.
