The Irish Supreme Court refers a case on considering EU Charter of Fundamental Rights in extradition to the EU Court of Justice for an alleged IRA member, Seán Walsh.

The Supreme Court of Ireland is referring a case involving alleged IRA member Seán Walsh to the Court of Justice of the EU. The question being referred is whether a judge approving an accused's extradition must consider the EU's Charter of Fundamental Rights, even when they are already satisfied there is no real risk to the person's rights under the Irish Constitution and Article 7 of the European Convention on Human Rights. Walsh is wanted in Northern Ireland on charges of IRA membership.
