Indian author Amitav Ghosh has won the Erasmus Prize 2024 for his significant contributions to the humanities and arts, particularly for his work addressing climate change's cultural and human aspects. The annual award, given by the Premium Erasmianum Foundation, comes with €150,000 in prize money and will be presented in autumn 2024. Ghosh, born in Kolkata, has a wide body of work spanning historical novels and journalistic essays.
