Chelsea, under US owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, announced pre-tax losses of £90.1m ($114.8m) in their first year. Despite the losses, Chelsea claims it is still complying with UEFA and Premier League financial regulations. The Premier League allows clubs to lose up to £105m over a three-year period, but spending on academies, stadiums, and women's football is exempt.
