Zoo attendant Olabode Olawuyi, killed rescuing woman from lion, laid to rest at OAU Zoological Garden.
Zoo attendant Olabode Olawuyi, who was killed by a lion at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Zoological Garden in Ile-Ife, has been laid to rest. Olawuyi, an Assistant Chief Veterinary Technologist, died while attempting to rescue a woman who was initially attacked by the lion. The male lion involved in the attack was euthanized following the incident. Olawuyi had been in charge of the zoo for over a decade.
