The Washington Capitals have signed Swedish defenseman Rasmus Sandin to a five-year, $23 million contract extension worth $4.6 million per year. The 23-year-old joins the Capitals through the 2028-29 season, having recorded 20 points (3 goals, 17 assists) in 52 games this season. Sandin was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the 2018 NHL Draft.
