The US imposed sanctions on companies and vessels.
The US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on two companies and two vessels for their role in shipping commodities on behalf of an Iranian-backed Houthi financial facilitator, Sa'id al-Jamal. The revenue generated from these shipments supports Houthi militant efforts, including attacks on international maritime commerce in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. This action follows the February sanctions on oil tankers and companies accused of working with al-Jamal.
