Medina, who also went by the name Michael Soto, is accused of using a fake identity as a fixer with connections to judges and solicited a wire transfer from Santos, who was facing his own fraud charges at the time. Medina faces a wire fraud charge with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison if convicted.
