A Royal Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon conducted a routine training exercise over the north west of England, causing loud noise that residents reported hearing. The jet, capable of 1,380 miles per hour, took off from RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire and flew over Humberside, Yorkshire, St Helens, Wirral, Runcorn, Widnes, and Warrington before returning to Lincolnshire. The Ministry of Defence confirmed the aircraft was in the area for the exercise.
