The New York Times launches "Strands" word game in beta mode on 4 March.

The New York Times is testing a new word game, Strands, for fans of Connections and Wordle. Launched on 4 March, with only two puzzles available online, the game is in "beta" mode and will eventually appear on the NYT Games app. Each puzzle has a theme and only words with a minimum of four letters are allowed. A unique rule is that the same letter cannot be used twice in a puzzle.
