Mortgage applications rebounded by 9.7% in the week ending March 1, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association's Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey, after a poor run over the past month. The Market Composite Index, a measure of mortgage loan application volume, increased 9.7% on a seasonally adjusted basis from the previous week. Both purchase and refinancing applications saw growth, with the average rate of the most popular US home loan remaining above 7%.
