Milk intake by processors and co-ops fell 22% in January 2024 compared to January 2023, reaching 140.1 million liters, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO). The fat content remained unchanged at 4.50%, while protein content fell from 3.50% to 3.48%. The Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers' Association (ICMSA) has urged processors to increase their milk price to provide a confidence boost to dairy farmers.
