Majorca is planning to impose fines of up to €3,000 on UK tourists for bad behaviour as part of a crackdown on "rampant" irresponsible tourism. Palma's mayor, Jaime Martinez, announced a zero-tolerance policy on vandalism, street drinking, and fights, stating that the same standards are expected from visitors as from citizens. More police will be on the streets this summer to enforce the new measures.
