50kg white garri price in Nigeria increases 108% in 3 months due to cassava production decline.

The price of garri, a popular Nigerian staple food, has increased by 108% in just three months, reaching an all-time high as cassava production declines nationwide. A survey by BusinessDay found that a 50kg bag of white garri now sells for N35,000, up from N17,000 sold in December 2023. The rise in garri prices can be attributed to issues like a lack of dollars, rising input costs, and declining cassava output.
